Product Description

This is 6-string version of the monster bass, TRB series. TRB was born as a versatile 6-string bass guitar along with the greater involvement of synthesizers in music in end of 1980s. TRB has been developed to cover low tonal range with a 5th string (low B), which could not be reached by orthodox 4-string bass,.

  1. 1Yamaha TRB1006 Specifications

  2. 2Scale Length: 35" (889mm)

  3. 317mm string spacing at bridge

  4. 4Fingerboard: Rosewood

  5. 5Body: Quilted Maple top/Alder body

  6. 6Neck: Maple three piece

  7. 7Bridge: Solid Brass

  8. 8Pickups: Alnico-V Hum-Canceled

  9. 9Preamp: 3 band

The bass has stock Yamaha pickups, but they are both 'turned round' 180 degrees,  so the pickup coils are towards the bridge, and the dummy coils are towards the neck. (they are single coil pickups, with hum cancelling dummy coil, mixed/tuned on separate preamp buffers, not humbucking pickups in a passive sense. This is exactly the placement as per the TRB older series ii pickup orienting  - so the bass has a more 'refined tone to it'. If you turn those pickups round 180 degrees, the bass will then voice as per the later 1006 - more aggressive/scooped and more 'out of phase' with both pickups on. Less jazzy, more rocky/aggressive/pic playing sound.
