This compact bass head is an ultra-portable gig-able unit with a ton of features and some awesome sounding amp models pre-loaded into it. It has a 300w power amp included in the design so you can plug straight into a cab and play live without needing a separate power amp: great news!

Looking at the physical object first, there are a plethora of ins and outs to make the Bias Mini as useful as possible: you get MIDI in & out, Bluetooth connectivity, an FX loop, a balanced XLR DI output and a 1/4 TRS speaker out amongst a few others. However you want to gain access to your sounds, this little box has you covered! You even get a built-in noise gate and reverb! We appreciate this kind of thinking!

The real test, however, lies in the sounds of the amp models themselves. There are 16 amplifier models pre-loaded including some incredible sounding and less-than-difficult-to-guess models like Mini Mark II, SVT 2 and GK 800. Cheekily named perhaps but the detail, response, bloom and character of each amp is breathlessly recreated. Over the years we have managed to play most of these amps in person and the BIAS models are spectacular: it is the feel and the reaction that impresses us: we took it for granted that the sounds themselves would be great and we were not disappointed! But it’s the ‘realism’ of the way the sounds interact with the instrument that sold us: at no point did we feel like we were playing through anything other than a genuine valve amp.

We can see all guitar players being able to benefit from these new Bias Mini heads: writing, rehearsing, recording and touring with your greatest selection of tones with you at all times is now not only a reality, it’s portable and convenient!

Specification

Take one look at the front panel of BIAS MINI Bass and you’ll feel right at home, because the knobs do what you expect them to. Call up one of the sixteen onboard presets and tweak the Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Master just like you’d expect to on a normal tube head, push the Output button to cycle through output controls for the amp, headphone and line outputs, and then get back to laying it down.

SMALL SIZE, HUGE TONE

The ability to have any tone you might need at your fingertips is immensely powerful for gigs and sessions, and the ground-breaking component emulation engine inside BIAS MINI Bass ensures that you’ll be able to get any bass tone you need - from hyper clean to seriously fuzzy and anything in between. With a built-in power amp rated at 300 watts @ 4 ohms there’s plenty of power on tap for medium-sized gigs and recording sessions, and at just over 5 pounds you won’t need an extra hand to carry it onstage. Add a built-in compressor to glue funk and slap licks together and glitch-less effects loop for your favourite effects, and BIAS MINI Bass is set to rule the stage.

POWERFUL SOFTWARE

If you want to dive headlong into the world of amp customisation, BIAS MINI Bass comes with our amazing BIAS AMP Pro amp designer software ($199 value), which allows you to recreate the sound and feel of nearly any existing amplifier. Even better, it gives you the power to create an entirely new amp that is unique to you and the way YOU play. Connect via built-in Bluetooth or USB, and open up a world of component options previously only available with a soldering iron: choose between different preamp and power amp circuits, change the tubes and transformers, add clipping diodes for fuzzy bass sounds and try out different rectifiers - all completely authentic and all in real time. It’s like having a boutique amplifier workshop at your fingertips.
